South Africa lost yet another icon this week with the death of prolific jazz musician, Dr. Philip Tabane.
Briefly.co.za reported this week that Dr Tabane had died as a result of age related illness. He was 84 years-old.
Tabane was best known for hits such as Nkupi and Muvhango. He was part of the musical group known as The Malombo Jazz Men. The South African Music Awards honoured Tabane with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998.
