Things for South African women seem to be getting worse where there safety is concerned. It has always been dangerous but now with social media the danger has just increased.
Khabonina Qubeka is always in the public eye. From her #KhaboYoga to her ever growing entertainment career, the star is a big name and constantly being watched.
Khabonina Qubeka was awarded an international accolade in the US earlier this year, scoring a Indie Spirit Best Actress Award at the Boston International Film Festival for her role as a Hillbrow prostitute in the movie Dora’s Peace.
Briefly.co.za gathered that after she was heading home from a shoot on Tuesday, Khabonina was assaulted. Even though Khabonia was in a state of shock, she took to Twitter to share her ordeal.
Violent crimes against women has escalated in the past few months. The misconception of it only happens to others is also a concern. We have to be aware and realistic that violence can happen within our personal boundaries. We are relieved that Khabonina is safe.
