The Umlazi Picnic music festival is happening this weekend. There have been requests on social media for Mampintsha not to appear.
Organisers, including DJ Tira, told TshisaLIVE despite all the appeals that the star will be performing.
The reason for the unhappiness about Mampintsha performing is after claims of assault were set against Mampintsha during Babe’s interview with Metro FM’s Masechaba Ndlovu and Mo Flava last Friday. However, Mampinthsa and Babes will both be performing at the music festival.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Masechaba voiced her feelings during the interview saying that Mampintsha allegedly punched Babes in the face and broke her leg. While the accusations were being made, Babe was in tears, this after earlier saying that their relationship has turned ‘sour’.
Mampintsha responded to the allegations saying that a third party is trying to tarnish his name. He also claimed that he and Babes were still an item.
The complaints against Mampintsha is news to DJ Tira. Speaking to TshisaLIVE, DJ Tira said he was unaware of any grievances against Mampintsha and he saw no reason to drop him from the line-up.
"There is no pressure to drop him and we won't drop him," Tira said.
It is not only Tira that expresses this sentiment. DJ Boonu told TshisalLIVE that he too has no problem with Mampintsha performing at the music festival.
"As Dj Boonu, I don’t see any problem with him performing at the show. We haven’t received any complaints about him performing."
Social media speculated that Tire himself was involved in the leaking of the allegations due to him been jealous of Mampintsha. Tira has flatly denied this.
"I have said it before, I love them and our relationship is good. I do not have a problem with Mampintsha or Babes. I am like everyone, I wish them all the best if they can't work out whatever problem they have."
