Mthethwa, a previous #IdolsSA winner, is set to release his new video this weekend, but if that isn’t excitement enough the singer has created quite a storm on Twitter.
The singer recently posted a question about who greets whom when driving in an Uber.
Apparently this gospel singing and qualified pastor needs a refresher course in manners.
This Tweet has sent Tweeps crazy with comments about basic manners.
When Tweeps erupted the singer claimed to just be asking because he had greeted the driver first, and the driver has not greeted him back.
However, this sentiment is contradicted in his replies to Tweeps who commented on his original post.
The singer backed his initial sentiment stating that the Uber driver is offering a service thus implying the onus is on him to greet first.
Some Tweeps were horrified that a pastor would ask a question like this.
TV show host Portia Gumede took the cake with her response when she said hit back with "you greeted every taxi driver from KZN to Jozi for Idols, but now you need to check protocol for Uber. This straight-talk comment is possibly just what the Idols star needed to bring his ideas back down to earth.
Mthethwa was featured in an article by Briefly.co.za recently on his dual role of pastor and singer. In the article Celebs turned pastors: 5 of Mzansi's most famous religious leaders we referred to him as an Idols season 8 contestant, who is also the son of a pastor.
In the article we looked at how his focus shifted from music to the church after his big win. Looking at his movement in the clerical realm, Mthethwa was his church's worship leader until daddy stepped down and made him the big boss.
He was the worship leader of his father's church until his dad stepped down and handed the congregation over to him.
Perhaps too much fame, too quickly across both the music and the church sphere have been the reason for his manners taking a dive.
