- Ntombifuthi was mentally ill between 2005 and 2006
- However, it healed when she went blind
- She therefore considers her blindness a blessing in disguise
A 43-year-old woman in Katlehong, Gauteng, claims that her blindness cured her mental illness.
Ntombifuthi Mazibuko was mentally ill between 2005 and 2006, Briefly.co.za learned. However, she was mysteriously healed the moment she went blind.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Ntombifuthi said she therefore considers her blindness a blessing in disguise.
The brave lady said:
In 2007, I suddenly felt heat while I was walking and a little creature that looked human came up to me.
It closed my eyes and told me I would never see again. At that moment, my mental illness was healed but I went blind.
Ntombifuthi consulted traditional healers and prophets in a bid to restore her eyesight, but it wasn't to be. Doctors finally confirmed that she would never be able to see again.
Fortunately, she adjusted to her new reality well and learned to read in Braille. She can perform most tasks on her own, including cooking, walking, washing, and even counting money.
Ntombifuthi now works at the Retsohile Support Group for the Visually Impaired. She does beadwork and creates cleaning products.
Her family has accepted her new life and provides her with much-needed support.
