The Boksburg community in Gauteng has its own superhero — Captain Juanita Coetzer, a communications officer at Boksburg North SAPS.
Coetzer has been with the SAPS for an incredible 30 years, Briefly.co.za learned. She has spent 20 of them in Boksburg.
She has accumulated immense experience in various law enforcement units, including crime prevention, visible policing, and explosives handling.
Coetzer is therefore well known in Boksburg and is closely involved in community activities and initiatives.
In particular, she takes part in regular anti-bullying projects aimed at protecting young learners at home or in school.
The accomplished Captain has plenty of advice for young people and maintains an open-door policy for whoever needs a listening ear.
Speaking to Boksburg Advertiser, Coetzer advised:
The job does not come without challenges and personally I had to work hard to keep and maintain a balanced life in this line of work. Through God everything is possible. If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.
As she nears her retirement, her main focus is on protecting her community. In her spare time, she spends time with her family, friends, and dogs.
