On Tuesday, an elderly woman went to pick up her granddaughter from the St Stithians College in Randburg, which was also were the new Bok squad had a training session that day.
However, she had a mix up with the car’s gears and it resulted in her parking her Chevy Spark in a ditch near the Springboks’ training camp.
Briefly.co.za learned the grandma got her car only four days prior to the accident and she explained she’s used to automatic vehicles, so she mixed up reverse and first gear.
The Citizen reported the 82-year-old woman was luckily not harmed in the incident, and her granddaughter chose to see the funny side of the story.
However, the lady was quite upset over the incident, adding her 91-year-old hubby would not be too happy about it when he comes home from his golfing trip.
One tweep was disappointed that the Bok Squad did not run over to help the elderly damsel in distress.
“Ah man, thought the Bok squad would jog over and dead lift it out of the ditch!”, the tweep wrote.
