Mandisa Mashego, the leader of the EFF caucus in the Gauteng legislature, presented eNCA's news show As It Happens on Tuesday night — and aced it like a seasoned pro.

Briefly.co.za learned that Mashego was a last minute replacement for the ANC's Fikile Mbalula, who had to pull out due to unforeseen circumstances.

This did not stop her from shining and earning the praise of viewers, including her party leader, Julius Malema.

Malema tweeted in support of Mashego and urged her not to mess it up like UDM leader Bantu Holomisa did recently.

The provincial EFF leader was accomplished as she interviewed the DA's Jack Bloom over the EFF's call for 24-hour clinics in Gauteng.

She also went toe to toe with a caller who took her to task on EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu's recent manhandling of a journalist.
