Black Leopards have booked their place in the 2018/19 Premier Soccer League (PSL) with a dramatic 1-0 win over Jomo Cosmos at the Thohoyandou Stadium.

The win gave Leopards an unbeatable eight points in the promotion/relegation playoff campaign and makes the final match between Cosmos and Platinum Stars largely academic.

Leopards have spent the last five years in the National First Division (NFD), gaining a reputation for making the playoffs but always finding a way to stumble at the last hurdle. gathered that the Thohoyandou Stadium was packed with eager Leopards’ supporters who hoped to experience the joys of victory first hand.

The stadium erupted in jubilation and celebration when the final whistle blew. There were epic scenes of celebration both on the field and in the stands.

Despite being objectively the best of the three teams in the playoffs, it appeared as if the pressure was getting to Leopards early in the match. SowetanLive reported that the team looked shaky at times, but in the end, held on for a famous victory.

Leopards scored the goal that produced a roar from the crowd that shook Thohoyandou when Mwape Musonda's cross from the left found Karabo Tshepe free of his markers to strike a first-time volley past goalkeeper King Ndlovu.

Cosmos wasted several key chances to score an equaliser and in the end, paid dearly for their lack of finishing ability.
