An eight-year-old boy has warmed the hearts of thousands of people online after helping an elderly woman go up a flight of stairs.

Maurice Adams Jnr was with his family in their car when he noticed the unnamed woman struggling, Briefly.co.za learned. He got out of the car and helped her.

Unbeknown to him, an onlooker, Riley Duncan, was filming the moment and later shared the video on Facebook.

According to ABC News, the incident happened in Georgia, United States. The video has gone viral and has been watched over 20,000 times so far.

Viewers praised the boy's kind and helpful gesture. Many more urged him to continue showing is compassion to society as he grows older. See some of their reactions below.
