Dineo Ranaka is giving radio a second chance. She shared her feelings as to why she has reconsidered returning to radio after previously vowing she would never return.
Dineo’s past experience where radio is concerned she found radio to bring her nothing but misery, leaving her with restless nights and finally renouncing radio, reported TimesLIVE.
When the opportunity arose for Dineo to join Metro FM as Lerato Kganyago's co-host, she duly accepted. Dineo gave her reasons why to Trending SA.
She said that the only reason that she changed her mind was because she ultimetly wanted to work for Metro FM and nothing else would cut it.
Dineo feels that Metro FM allows her to be exactly who she is and she feels that is invaluable. It allows her to be 'black', expressing herself as an African woman with no limitation.
Dineo went on to explain that her and radio just weren’t a match at that time in her life. She felt confined and limited by rules which did not allow her to be her flamboyant, sassy self.
She also highllighted that God showed her that she is not the one making the rules.
"Highveld studio tried to change me and I didn't feel that I fit in at 5fm, I was miserable."
"I still sleep painfully at night when I think of the dreams that I am chasing, the time in the day, and being caught in the studio for three hours... it stresses me that all these people that inspire my vision for self are not on radio. They're populating their time doing other things."
Briefly.co.za learnt that it was only hours after Bonang announced she had resigned from the station when Dineo stepped in. It was April 2017, and Dineo was now a presenter for The Bridge.
She is a phenominal host and many look foward to having her back on air.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that Dineo is choosing to focus on her children rather than battleling it out with her ex. Blaklez and Dineo had a super messy, and ugly breakup, but thankfully, they have moved forward to a healthy place for their kids. Mother’s Day was case-in-point as this daddy made sure he told the mother of his children just how amazing she really is
