Giyani "Penny Penny" Kulani is fed up with his province being divided, so he decided he’s going to step up and challenge the current Limpopo premier to step down.
Penny Penny believes not enough have been done to chance the situation in Limpopo, adding he is the perfect person to make a difference.
According to TimesLIVE, the King of disco is tired of the inequality and tribalism, that has caused a rift between the Limpopo residents, so he is going to try and overthrow the province ANC Premier, Stanley Mathabatha.
"I am waiting for the next meeting of counsellors for my name to be nominated for the position. We are still waiting for our (ANC) provincial conference to happen after all the delays but, when it happens, I will stand up and challenge Stanley. He has not changed anything in the area and I challenge him to step down", he said.
Taking to social media, Penny Penny urged citizens to vote for him as the new Limpopo premier.
“Ahee limpopo I invite all anc to vote for me as chairperson of anc in limpopo I have dream that I can bring charge in limpopo bringing people together I challenge the premier he have to step down because he never unity our people and myself I believe that I can do this Ahee”, he captioned the post.
However, according to the musician he was not an opponent, he is merely an ANC member who believes he has what it takes to ‘clean’ up Limpopo and bring the change it needs to better the lives of those living in the province.
Briefly.co.za learned Limpopo ranks as one of the poorest provinces in South Africa, with a lot of the five million people in the province living below the poverty line.
