Johannesburg Mayor Herman Mashaba received mixed reactions from his Twitter followers when he urged them to read his biography.

Mashaba posted pictures of the book, Black Like You, on Twitter on Wednesday, Briefly.co.za gathered.

He encouraged those who are interested in knowing more about him to get a copy, promising that it's not "fake news."

Some of his followers expressed interest in reading the book and asked how they can get it.

However, others were more interested in getting efficient service delivery from the city Mashaba leads. See more reactions below.

Some wanted Mashaba to get them a copy of the book.

Others said they have already read it.

For others, however, Mashaba should be ensuring service delivery instead of promoting his book.
