The television show Yobe managed to raise eyebrows again, this time because of a murderer who told people to “humble themselves and forgive them”.
IOL reported the TV show helps convicted criminals seek forgiveness through the Department of Correctional Service's Victim Offender Dialogue and it recently featured murderer Phineas.
Phineas fatally shot his girlfriend, Vinolia, after they allegedly fought over their now 16-year-old child. During the anger-filled incident, Phineas also shot a young family friend, Kgomotso, who he claimed was an innocent bystander but a witness to his crime.
To get both his girlfriend and Kgomotso’s families’ forgiveness, Phineas said he hoped they could “find it in themselves to humble themselves and forgive” him.
However, things went haywire when he started to lie to the families about the events that led up to the tragic incident- which resulted in Kgomotso’s gogo calling him out.
Ultimately, the families refused to forgive Phineas, adding he was still lying to them about that day. Their decision to withhold their forgiveness was praised by social media users, who took to Twitter to voice their opinions about Phineas and his lame apology
“No but some people ask way too much. .. you kill someone's child then you expect them to "humble themselves and forgive you?" No guys let's respect each other #YobeMzansi #Yobe”, one tweep wrote.
