ANC provincial coordinator Sihle Zikalala has stated the members believe that national leaders of the ANC are using factions to sow divisions in the party for their own personal interests.
He came forward with a warning for the national leaders after the ANC KZN consultative conference was called off following disruptions and a court interdict against the elective conference.
Zikalala siad that ANC members in KZN were unhappy with what he called interference from national level.
“There is a level of frustration from ANC members about what is alleged to be divisive and interference from some leaders of the ANC at a national level.”
He explained that while they had apologised to Gwede Mantashe for heckling and ultimatley preventing him from addressing the crowd members were still insisting that the national leaders were manipulating events for their own personal gain. He cited factionalism as one of the means that divisions were being created in the party at provincial level.
His supporters accused ANC members loyal to Cyril Ramaphosa for the court interdict which halted the elective conference.
