The 2018 Comrades Marathon has dominated the news after plenty of inspiring stories emerged from it.

Amidst all that inspiration, one man chose the momentous occasion to propose to the love of his life, Briefly.co.za gathered.

A Twitter user, Nonhlanhla Sifumba, shared images of the romantic proposal on her account and revealed that the lady said yes.

The images show an unnamed couple embracing and kissing each other, apparently after the man had gone down on his knees to propose.

Onlookers and a few photographers were happy to capture the moment for posterity. This isn't the first time a marriage proposal has been made at the Comrades Marathon.

In 2014, popular TV weatherman, Derek van Dam, proposed to his then-girlfriend, Tara Hossack, at the finish line.
