The community of Rivonia recently showed their appreciation for the hard work one of their community members does for them.
Moses Khwene has been keeping the community of Rivonia clean for 12 years. He cleans the streets, tends to weeds and plants beautiful flowers as part of his daily routine.
The community members collected R20 000 for Moses as a token of appreciation and love. Apparently, Moses will use the money to repair his car.
Briefly.co.za learned that Moses was a hijack victim on the 2nd of June and his car was ruined during the incident. He was hijacked by a group of men pretending to be police on the N3.
They removed him from the vehicle and sped off, leaving him alone in the bushes. Fortunately, Moses was not injured and eventually found his way to the police - but only 12 hours later.
Moses' car was later found, but the hijackers drove without oil and ruined the car. This after Moses worked hard and saved up money to pay his car. He made his last payment not too long ago.
After his horrid ordeal, the Rivonia community took it upon themselves to help Moses out.
In a matter of days the community managed to collect a whopping R20 000 for Moses. Now his car will be repaired, according to a report by GoodThingsGuy.
You will still find Moses somewhere in Rivonia, cleaning or sprucing up the place - with a huge smile on his face.
Rivonia primary school and the local Bistro were some of the major donors involved in getting together money for Moses.
It is always good to see someone doing their bit for their community - and even better to see them rewarded for their dedication.
