South African celebrities have made a strong showing in 2018's prestigious Forbes Africa Under 30 list.
Briefly.co.za learned that a total of 14 local stars were named in the list's creative section, with actress Thuso Mbedu and rapper Cassper Nyovest leading the way.
According to Forbes Africa, the list celebrates young African creatives in various artistic fields, including music, art, media, film, and fashion.
Thuso made headlines last year when she was nominated for an Emmy Award for her role as Winnie in Mzansi Magic drama Is’thunzi.
Cassper Nyovest's star continues to shine and he already has several awards to his name, including an MTV Africa Award for Best Hip Hop Act in 2015.
Isibiya actress Nomzamo Mbatha also appears on the list, as does singer Shekhinah, who recently bagged multiple awards at the South African Music Awards.
Top fashion designer Orapeleng Modutle, rap and hip hop artiste Kwesta, and gifted poet Koleka Putuma were not left behind.
Also featuring in the list are rapper Nasty C, award-winning visual artiste Simphiwe Ndzube, and talented fashion designer Rina Chunga-Kutama.
Actress Mapeseka Koetle-Nyokong, visual artiste Tony Gum, rapper Anatii, and actress Sasha Pieterse complete the impressive array of local stars in the list.
