Meet Iago Marçal: The Comrades dancer who went viral

- Iago turned many heads with his killer dance moves at the Comrades this year

- As he knew he was not going to come in first, he decided to have a little fun and broke out in dance which was caught on camera and went viral

The Comrades are always filled with comradery and fun. Stopping off at a watering point, a man wearing a Brazilian Flag, stopped for a moment to dance his heart out.

Iago Marcal’s dance that he performed for all to see during the Comrades Marathon, drew the attention of South African’s and this touching event was caught on film, reported news 24.

There are so many heart-warming stories that come out of the Comrades Marathon and the public just can’t get enough of them. The latest being one of a feel-good story.

Iago Sampaio Marcal’s dance moves at the Comrades Marathon has made him a viral sensation.

Briefly.co.za learnt that this Brazilian runner resides in Cape Town. He belongs to the Carbineers Western Province club.

Finishing in a time of 10:17:49 which earned him a bronze medal. In the public’s eye he receives a gold medal for his amazing winner spirit!

Posted on Twitter, it was reported that Iago was halfway when he decided to entertain the public. He brought a lot of smiles to many tired faces.

He still having another 45 kms to go to the finishing line. One user found it great that Iago stopped along the way to have a little fun.

According to Jabulile, you know you are not going to be number 1 so you might as well have fun along the way, and this is what he does.

Other shared that they believed it was just a way to keep his legs arm, preventing any injury later in the race.

Nicky Abdinor love it! She said that she hoped his legs made it, and perhaps it was the ultimate warm up seshs/dance!!

Overall the feeling was one of people loving the idea that Iago had a good time while running one of the most gruelling marathons in the world.

It’s wonderful and inspiring to see people enjoying and having fun South African style! It is people like this that make moments enjoyable.
