Home affairs tells Patrick that he is a dead man according to their records

A devastated 58-year-old man, Patrick Prince, was told by home affairs that according to their records he died in 2016.

However, Patrick alive and struggling to get his ID. He was absolutely shocked when the officials at home affairs told him the news.

The father of four was at the Motherwell offices of home affairs to change his wife's surname on her ID after they got married in 2016. He paid the R280 for a reissue after his book had been damaged.

He had also paid for his wife's new ID but when he returned to collect the IDs he was told that he had been declared dead.

When he got married he was still alived according to home affairs but now he is dead on their system. Even after going to the police station to get an affidavit that he was still alive did not help.

He has been to home affairs several time but has had not success. The manager of the Motherwell Home Affairs has asked for Patrick's details so that he could investigate what had happened.
