Zimbabwean journalist humiliated by angry mob

A terrified Zimbabwean journalist was publicly humiliated by a mob who accused him of sleeping with a man's wife.

A group of six men accosted Clayton Masekesa, who works for Newsday newspapers. He was allegedly caught with with the wife of Soul Tom, the Mutare City Football Club secretary general.

A video uploaded to social media shows the unfortunate man being forced to roll around in mud but instead of exacting their revenge and making Masekesa an object of ridicule the opposite has happened.

Many people have come out in support of Masekesa and pointed out the adultery is not a crime but physical assault is. The poor man was degraded and made to endure inhuman humiliation.

It has been reported that the six men have been arrested and are facing charges of assault. The accounts also vary with some saying that Masekesa slept with Tom's wife while others maintain that it was Tom's girlfriend.
