Not good news, Shashi Naidoo, TV personality, has once again being dropped by a sponsor.

Shashi landed herself in trouble when she expressed her views on Israel and Palestine. Shashi referred to Gaza as a “shithole” through a variety of social media posts.

Shortly after Shashi’s posts, social media reacted with a number of criticisms. This resulted in several of the local celeb sponsors, which included Glam Palm and Lil Jewels, dropping her, reported IOL News.

Aware of her mistake, Shashi published a second apology on Tuesday. The apology appeared on her Instagram page stating that the original statement was on she had copied and pasted received from a friend. Stating her reason behind the post was she was trying to appear “smart” on social media. learnt that when releasing a statement to the media on Tuesday afternoon, it was said that the horse racing and betting company, Golden Circle, announced that Shashi’s appearance at this year’s Durban July has been cancelled.

Golden Circle is not willing to associate their brand with a person who is capable of such acts and will no longer be supporting Shashi in any way.

The points and oppinionsthat were stated by Shashi, was made clear by the company, do not reflect those of Gold Circle, the Vodacom Durban July or those of its associated sponsors.

The apologies that Shashi has released has been acknowledge by Gold Circle. Unfortunately, these apologises have had no impact on their decision.

Gold Circle stated that they "disassociates itself from the controversy surrounding the incident." After this being said, it’s clear Shashi has been dropped.

Other sponsors and endorsement companies have also pulled away from her due to her social media outburst.
