- Supermodel Shashi Naidoo got herself into hot water with her comments on Gaza
- The model has since apologised and will now travel to Palestine to educate herself
- People were very upset with the model's comments and hope she will learn to think before she talks about such things again
South African model Shashi Naidoo made an upset in the media when she commented on Gaza.
Now the young woman plans to travel to Palestine to learn more about the situation in the area.
She apologised publicly but decided to do more than just say sorry.
The model shared an Instagram post in which she called Gaza a "sh*thole". People reacted very strongly to the comment and she had to apologise really quickly.
According to a report by The South African, Naidoo said she found the comments on another post and shared them.
These comments stated that parents from Palestine teach their kids to hate Jews. It also said that they are rewarded for killing people from Israel.
The model has received several death threats since she first shared the post. It has been removed. Naidoo also lost some of her sponsors.
Briefly.co.za reported earlier that Naidoo has lost her spot in the Vodacom Durban July.
Golden Circle along with other supporting and endorsement companies, have cut their association with Naidoo over the views she expressed on social media.
On Wednesday morning the model was part of a press conference with BDS South Africa.
Apparently the model asked BDS for support and to help her learn more about what's really going on in the places she spoke about.
Naidoo will now go on an educational trip with the SA Council of Churches but she will be paying her own expenses.
Briefly.co.za learned that people 'attacked' Naidoo on social media about her post and some of them were very unforgiving.

However, others hope the model will learn more about what she spoke of.
