Cristiano Ronaldo continued his fine goal scoring form at the FIFA World Cup in Russia as he powered Portugal to a 1-0 win against Morocco on Wednesday, June 20.

Ronaldo's well taken header in the 4th minute of the game took his tally to four goals in the tournament as he scored more than any other player at the World Cup.

The goal also means the Real Madrid star has overtaken Ferenc Puskás to become the top European international goal scorer of all-time.

Ronaldo has now scored 85 international goals; one more than Puskas. He has also scored more goals than any other European player in the history of international football.

More records at the World Cup also shows that the 33-year-old's free header from a set-piece in the 4th minute against Morocco means he has now scored the two fastest goals in Russia. He got the opener for Ronaldo against Spain in the 3rd minute last week.

But after going behind in the game, Morocco took the game to Portugal and could have been back on level terms in the 11th minute as Juventus star Benatia rose highest in the box but his low header was held easily by Rui Patricio.

Minutes later, Ziyech drove into the box but his shot was blocked by the Portuguese defender. Portugal could have extended their lead just before the end of the first half as Ronaldo played a brilliant ball over the top to Guedes, but El Kajoui denied the PSG striker with a fantastic one-handed save.

In the 56th minute, Morocco seemed to have gotten the equalizer as Belhanda's glancing header from a free-kick looks destined to go in but Rui Patricio in goal for Portugal, got a strong hand and made a fine save.

With few minutes left to play, Morocco had a glorious chance of getting the equalizer as Ziyech found his way into the box but his goal bound shot was blocked magnificently by Pepe.

The game ended 1-0 in favour of Portugal as Morocco became the first nation to officially crash out of the FIFA World Cup.
