- Cristito Quimado works as a garbage collector and has 4 children
- Through his work, he has successfully taken his eldest daughter through college
- Amazingly, he makes barely $10 a day
A 51-year-old super dad from the Philippines made sure his daughter graduated from college through his work as a garbage collector.
Cristito Quimado makes barely $10 a day, Briefly.co.za learned. This did not stop the hardworking and determined dad from supporting his daughter.
Amazingly, Cristito has four children and is determined to support all of them through college. He has been a garbage collector for 20 years now.
Speaking to DigiDokyu, the super dad said his work is not easy and he has to be up by 3am every day. He insisted that he does it for his family:
I do it for my family, for my kids. Education is the only thing I can leave my children.
His 20-year-old daughter, Jenny Rose Quimado, now holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Technology.
Jenny said she was never ashamed to say her dad is a garbage collector. She thanked him for enabling her to graduate against all odds:
I thank God for giving me my dad. He has a noble job. It’s okay even if his earnings are small; at least he’s not doing anything illegal.
Jenny added that she can't wait to get her first job so she can begin supporting her dad and younger siblings.
Cristito said he'll continue doing everything he can to support his family:
As a father, you will do everything just to support the needs of your family. You can endure any kinds of job as long as it is not illegal [for your family].
