- Kaizer Chiefs supporters are feeling sad about the current state the once mighty team finds itself in
- The club has not won a trophy in three years, the longest winless streak in its history
- Some supporters feel like the club’s owners and management are doing little to address the problems and point out that the club has no coach and precious few quality players
Kaizer Chiefs fans are feeling abandoned, frustrated and sad with the current state of things at the once mighty club. The side hasn’t won a major trophy in three years, the longest winless-streak in its history and from the outside it doesn’t look like the prospects for next season are any better.
Kaizer Chiefs have not named a replacement for Steve Komphela who quit his role as head coach two months ago. Komphela resigned with immediate effect after the now infamous Moses Mabhida Stadium pitch invasion.
Added to this is the fact that the club has made no attempt to sign quality players to boost its squad and has in fact released five players, rumours also suggest that technical advisor Rob Hutting will be leaving when his contract expires next week.
Briefly.co.za gathered that if Hutting leaves the club will start its pre-season training on Monday without a coach or a technical advisor and very little direction.
This sad state of affairs has disgruntled and desperate fans feeling like their pleas for something to be done to fix the issues at the club have been ignored.
KickOff.co.za reported that Kaizer Chiefs Supporters Club member TikZoe1 has questioned whether he would remain loyal to the Amakhosi.
He said the club had ignored fans when they called for Komphela to be axed at the start of the year. The club’s faithful had lost patience with Komphela after he led a previously winning side to mediocrity.
TikZoe1 said he and other fans were again left scratching their heads when Chiefs failed to secure star players and instead lost those players to arch-rivals Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Fans feel like the club could have done more to secure the services of Bafana Bafana superstar Andile Jali who eventually signed with Sundowns.
TikZoe1 warns that Kaizer Chiefs fans could rise up in disgust against Bobby and Kaizer Motaung. He said Kaizer’s old age must have caught up with him because it looks as if he doesn’t care about the well-being of the club.
Tikzoe1 said he would no-longer by buying tickets or merchandise to support his beloved team and even said he was embarrassed to be a Chiefs fan.
"Maybe I should just jump ship and support Pirates or Sundowns,” he said.
