Kaizer Chiefs confirmed signing three new players ahead of the 2018/19 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season. The headline signing is Khama Billiat who joins Amakhosi from current PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Letlhogonolo Mirwa from the ABC Motsepe League and Madagascar defender Andriamirado Andrianarimanana will also be joining the Soweto giants.
Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung made the announcement earlier on Friday. He welcomed the new recruits to the Chiefs family.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Kaizer Chiefs are still without a head coach. The position has been vacant for just over two months. Sources close to the matter have revealed the club are desperately trying to lure Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter back.
Some reports indicate the club could make an announcement regarding the coaching position before Monday.
Kickoff.co.za reported that Billiat has signed a three-year deal with the club with the option of an additional year. The Zimbabwean national rejected a deal which would have seen him remain with Mamelodi Sundowns for another season.
Kaizer Chiefs are believed to have paid handsomely for Billiat, the club is desperate to break their current trophy drought. It has been three years since the club last won a major tournament, the longest such spell in its history.
Andrianarimanana has been raising eyebrows with his performances in the CAF African Champions League and won the player of the tournament in the recent COSAFA Cup.
The club will start its pre-season training programme on Monday and their first off-season match will be against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup on 21 July 2018. The match will take place at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
