Sometimes celebrities say things without thinking about it, and they get into hot water for it. When these local stars shared their opinions on political matters it took a wrong turn for them.

Shashi Naidoo

The very latest celeb to put their foot in their mouth was supermodel Shashi Naidoo. She said on social media that Gaza is a "sh*thole" and things kind of exploded from there.

The model lost many followers and even sponsors because of this one incident, as reported earlier by Briefly.co.za.

Shashi even received a couple of death threats. The beauty has apologised for her comments and is even heading to Palestine to get educated on what's happening in the area.

Gareth Cliff

Popular radio presenter Gareth Cliff got himself into a mess when he made remarks about the situation between Palestine and Israel. People told him that he should be ashamed of his comments.

This was an attempt to invade a sovereign nation and border communities to indiscriminately slaughter civilians… What must Israel do? Let it happen? Let their citizens be killed by a bunch of people who are clearly hell-bent on violence?

AKA

AKA is a proud supporter of the ANC. He is so proud that he said in 2016 that he wouldn't perform at any events for the opposing parties.

This got quite a response on social media.

EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi tweeted: “I hav no problem with @akaworldwide membership of ANC. I support the right to affiliate. But why boycott EFF when many fighters buy yo music.”

The EFF leader Julius Malema also had something to say on the matter. He stated on social media that they invite him to events despite knowing that he supports the ANC.

Arthur Mafokate

Arthur Mafokate claims to be a true and loyal ANC supporter, but he got blasted when he congratulated the opposition on a victory.

Arthur congratulated Herman Mashaba when he was to be announced as the mayor of Johannesburg.

Wow! Bra Herman Mashaba who used to be sponsor us as dancers is about to be a Mayor of the most powerful city in Africa.
