South Africans have taken to social media to share their dismay on a 70-year-old man being appointed at the new North West premier.
On Thursday, the ANC announced it would appoint Job Mokgoro as the North West's new premier and it shocked tweeps.
Mokgoro succeeded Supra Mahumapelo, who resigned in May following a lengthy protest against his leadership.
However, despite people wanting Mahumapelo gone, they felt the ANC should have appointed a younger politician as his successor.
Parody Twitter account Man's Not Barry Roux took to the social media platform to share his views on Mokgoro getting the job.
"Welcome to South Africa where a 49 year old goes to early retirement and makes way for a 70 year old. We are definitely Led here. Amandla", he captioned the post.
The post gathered a lot of comments from people who share his views.
"Politicians should by law be forced to retire at age of 60 years like any ather work place, we tired of them thinking Political Parties are their old age homes, they are not CEO's", @Nsie_Makarova commented.
However, one tweep pointed out Mokgoro dis say in his speech that young people should get opportunities.
