Good Samaritans rally to hunt for owner of wallet found in taxi

South Africans on Twitter are rallying to find the owner of a lost wallet found in a taxi in Claremont, Cape Town.

Their caring nature came to the fore after a Twitter user, Custy Kgadi, shared photos of the wallet and an ID found in it, learned.

He appealed to his followers to retweet until the owner, a young lady called Lalitha Dyantyi, is found.

Kgadi's appeal has garnered more than 2,000 retweets so far. Tweeps also offered various suggestions on how to find Lalitha.

Several Twitter users revealed that they know Lalitha, with one saying she is her friend's cousin. See more reactions below.

Some of Kgadi's followers said they know Lalitha.

Other Twitter users offered helpful suggestions.

For others, it was a chance to share a joke or two about the situation.
