Woman poisons guests after husband’s repeated criticism of her cooking

A 23-year-old woman in Raigad, India, reportedly laced food she prepared for guests with poison after her husband's constant criticism of her cooking skills.

According to Hindustan Times, Pradnya Survase was unhappy with her husband and his family. Apart from her culinary skills, they also reportedly mocked her dark complexion.

The unhappy wife therefore allegedly intended to kill them, Briefly.co.za gathered.

In an interview, Vishwajeet Kaingade, a police officer handling the case, said:

Pradnya claims that since her marriage two years ago, she’s been insulted regularly for her dark complexion and accused of not being able to cook well.

Pradnya invited more than 100 guest to a party on 18 June and allegedly laced the food she prepared for them with snake poison.

As a result, more than 80 people were affected and had to receive medical attention. Four children and one adult woman passed away.

The people affected reported symptoms such as nausea and stomachaches. In a twist, two of those who passed away are Prandya's relatives.

The young woman was apprehended after she reportedly confessed and now faces charges of murder.
