Woman's post addiction photos shook the internet

The abuse of narcotics can lead to negative effects mentally, financially and physically. Apart from one becoming an addict, the negative effects cannot be fully quantified.

A woman identified as Cheryl Lenyard took to her Facebook page to share photos of her time as a drug user and how she looks now that she doesn’t use drugs anymore.

“From crack to Christ he saved my life l will have 7yrs clean Aug 11th l feel so brand new l haven't touched a rock since God showed me how to stop,” she wrote.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) according to the Guardian gave reasons for the recent rise in drug abuse in the country.

Director General of NAFDAC, Prof. Moji Adeyeye, in her statement, explained that the current codeine syrup crisis, which was further exposed by a BBC documentary, is due to: “Inadequate NAFDAC presence at various Entry Ports that has led to significant levels of smuggling together with importation of considerable amounts of products with potential for abuse and attendant non-regulation of such products.”
