Michael Jackson's dad dies at 89, but not everyone is sad he's gone

Michael Jackson’s father, Joe, passed away at the age of 89 following a lengthy battle with terminal pancreatic cancer.

The father of the late the late king of pop, passed away on Wednesday morning, reports by TimesLIVE reported.

Briefly.co.za learned the father of 11 was hospitalised in June and his family have been supporting him during the difficult time.

Since 2016, Joe suffered a stroke and three heart attacks, and he was “not doing well” as of late, People Music reported.

Taking to Twitter, Joe’s grandsons confirmed the heartbreaking news of their grandpa’s death.

The news of his death shook social media and people across the globe send out messages of comfort for those he left behind and they expressed their sadness about the loss of the man who kicked started Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5’s music careers.

However, a lot of social media users slammed the deceased Joe, adding he did not deserve praise since he beat Michael Jackson.

Annamarie Giordano wrote, “I’m confused...didn’t Michael say he was beaten and lost his childhood because of his father? The family puts their business out there over the years and then someone dies and they become a hero. That’s not loving each other”.

The mean responses led to Tai Jackson slamming haters, asking them to please respect the family by letting them mourn without ‘nastiness’.

MJ forgave his father long before his own death.
