- Mexicans sent beer to the South Korean embassy in gratitude for helping them make the last 16
- Official sponsors of the national football team Estrella Jalisco sent 30 cases with a thank you note
World Cup 2014 defending champions Germany were at the center of all football discussions world over following their humiliating 2-0 defeat to underdogs South Korea.
Mexico risked an early exit after Sweden's 3-0 thumping gave the Germans a clear opportunity to save face by qualifying to the round of 16.
The Germans only needed one goal to send Mexico packing, but the Taeguk Warriors came to their rescue upsetting Die Mannschaft and bungling them out of the World Cup.
According to a tweet by Mexican beer manufacturers Estrella Jalisco, official sponsors of the national team, decided to show their love by sending 30 cases of beer to the nation's embassy in Washington.
El Tri fans were an ecstatic lot and very well knew they were indebted to the Warriors for an excellent display of counter attacking football.
And what better way to show gratitude than to send down a couple of beers for the Korean lads to enjoy while watching the rest of the World Cup form home having also been eliminated.
Interestingly, as much as Mexicans are known for their tequila, beer was the preferred choice of beverage and it is no doubt that German fans would likely also do with a couple of rounds to ease their heartache.
Die Mannschaft slipped from being favourites to being the centre of ridicule after exuding intense confidence prior to the start of the mundial.
Hopefully, the Mexicans will see it in their hearts to send their condolences in the form of beers to the German embassy as well, they likely need it more than anyone else.
