How Sjava saved his mom: Busking bought in the bucks for his family

BET Award-winning African trap musician, Sjava, has been hailed for his humility from the minute he first stepped on the scene and this past week, we got to see first-hand where this humility stems from.

On Sjava’s return from the BET Awards held in Los Angeles this weekend, he had an amazing welcome back. Adoring fans, member of the media and his very proud and excited family where there to meet him, reported ZAlebs.

Proud mother of Sjava, Ma’Nkabinde, was beaming from ear to ear.

Only as a mother would, she sang his praises, which lead the shy musician to blush.

This was a moment to remember. After Sjava’s mom had had her moment the rest of his family took turns in sharing just how proud they of him and also revealed stories from his childhood. learnt that Ma’Nkabinde told of how Sjava disappeared at a concert his aunt had taken him too. His aunt later found him on stage, singing hand-in-hand with none other than Luck Dube.

Sjava’s mom went back in time to when they had just moved to Johannesburg from Kwa-Zulu Natal and they would go into town and find out that they had run out of money to return home.

No problem to Sjava, he would go to the busiest part of town and sing and dance for all to watch. He would always receive donations which was enough money for them to pay the fare back home.

Ma'Nkabinde is a religious person and testified to the fact that she always prayed for Sjava’s talent and success. Before his trip to Los Angele, she prayed for him and truly believes that his win is fact that prayer does work.
