It was a very heartwarming moment when the students at the Bristol University handed over an envelope with more than R27 000 to their beloved cleaner Herman Gordon.

Herman hasn't seen his family in over four years but now he will be able to visit them. He will also be celebrating his 23rd anniversary with his wife Denise in July.

The students adore Herman and to show him just how much they love him, they decided to raise funds to send him home.

Herman was moved to tears and his smile was never-ending.

The cleaner is known for his positive energy that brightens the days of many students.

According to a report by Huffington Post, Herman believes it is necessary to keep away negative energy at the university.

He says the students don't need negative vibes around them when they study.

The students were able to raise the money for their favourite cleaner through a JustGiving page.

Briefly.co.za learned that along with the money, the students gave Herman a heartfelt note:

We would like to thank you for all the positive energy you have given to us throughout the years. You have brightened many of our days and we want you to know that we love and appreciate you. We have come together to give you a special gift as our way of saying thank you. Have a great summer.”

These young people proved that not all university students are selfish party animals. They restored a little bit of faith in humanity with their loving act.
