Man's in-laws cut him out of his wife's funeral

Moses Masombuka is grieving the loss of his wife, Maggie, but finds himself relegated to a mere spectator at his wife's funeral.

He was shocked to discover that from his neighbours that his wife, who had been ill for the past three years, had died.

The 56-year-old from Soshanguve had only been married to his wife for four years and had been looking after her for the past four years with his two children.

His wife had moved back to live with her family, who were closer to the clinic, a month ago. Her children had visited her there.

Briefly.co.za learned that Moses said that his wife's family hated him and didn't even tell him that his wife had died and had found out from one of his neighbours. He called the family who told him that they would bury his wife without him according to the dailysun.co.za.

Maggie's sister Esther accuses Moses of not paying lobola and that he and his family had begged them to bury her sister and that they had agreed.
