- Masabata Khotlele says her RDP house has huge cracks
- She has approached her local municipality since 2015 but hasn't received help
- The local councillor said there's no budget to repair RDP houses
A 63-year-old Gogo in Mangaung, Free State province, says she's not fully enjoying her RDP house because it has large cracks on its walls.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Masabata Khotlele said she has approached her municipality several times since 2015.
However, she has not received any help, Briefly.co.za learned. She said the cracks are large enough to see through.
I can see outside while I’m inside and have been reporting the matter to my leaders in Phase 6. I’m asking for help.
The local councillor, Hoes Ramabolu, told Daily Sun that there's no budget for repair of RDP houses.
Our government has assisted our people and they should also take some initiative. I have seen the Gogo’s house and it doesn’t look good.
I have prioritised it and maybe we could do something on Mandela Day. Please check with me again in early July.
