About a week ago we wrote about Pabee Moganedi leaving her role as Mamiki on Mzansi Magic’s The Queen. We also mentioned how she had been criticized by a lot of fans she meets in public for her TV persona. The actor has previously revealed that some viewers wanted her to leave the show because her character really irritated them. In a recent interview with DRUM, Pabee has further opened up about playing the role of Mamiki.
The 25-year-old actress says she is nothing like the character she played on TV. “Besides how loud we both can get, I’m happy to say Mamiki and I are two completely different people from worlds apart,” she tells DRUM. Pabee also mentioned how she enjoyed speaking Sipitori-Setswana as part of her role. “It felt like I was breaking all the vernacular rules.”
On challenges that she faced while playing Mamiki, Pabee says getting into character was not difficult since she knows people like Mamiki. “It was a blast. I was allowed the creative freedom to go all the way with her so I milked her for everything. Shout out to the Ferguson Films directors,” she said.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Pabee is not ready to reveal any details about her next move after The Queen yet.
