But it was the Mexicans who started the game the better side. A dangerous ball played in Brazil's box forced Alisson to punch away but the rebound drops kindly for Lozano whose shot was blocked.
However, after the 30-minute mark, it was all Brazil as Neymar dribbled pass two Mexicans before forcing a save from Ochoa. Few seconds later, Coutinho fired wide.
But Brazil finally got their goal in the second half as Neymar started a move and finished off from close range after a fine assist from Willian.
The five-time winner doubles their lead in the 88th minute after Neymar found Firmino in the box who scored from close range. The game ended 2-0 in favour of Brazil and the south Americans qualify for the quarter final.
