After falling pregnant as a teenager, Monica’s family wasn’t impressed, resulting in her father kicking the then expecting mother out of their home. Briefly.co.za gathered that Nhlonipho did right by his bride and paid the damages, which helped in mending fences within the families.

Years later, Nhlonipho proposed kasi style, hiding the engagement ring under the biscuits. Three years on, the couple decided to celebrate their love on national television. They held their wedding ceremony at the local park and Monica walked down the aisle in a white ball gown, while her hubby waited in his beige suit. Their bridal party wore different shades of guava outfits.

The reception took place at the bride's family home, and their chosen colours were guava and white, with fresh flowers all around.

On day two, the bride was welcomed into the Simelane home. The theme of the traditional wedding was a modern look as per the request of Monica’s mother as she isn't a fan of the dull colors that come with traditional themes.
