Media personality Ayanda-Allie Paine proudly wore a traditional South African outfit during a visit to Delaware's Senate and House of Representatives recently.

The popular TV news anchor posted several photos of her visit on her Twitter profile, Briefly.co.za gathered.

She quoted from former President Thabo Mbeki's famous I am an African speech to express her pride in Africa and South Africa.

Ayanda-Allie also met John Carney, the Governor of the US State of Delaware, during her visit. She received official recognition from Delaware's House of Representatives.

The broadcaster recalled how former President Nelson Mandela gave a speech to a joint sitting of the US Congress on 26 June, 1990.

Ayanda-Allie also posed for pictures with fellow Africans during the occasion.
