A dedicated dad in Benoni, Ekurhuleni, takes absolute pride in his simple but effective mode of transport — his bicycle.

27-year-old Sibusiso Ntanzi considers his bicycle as his car and makes sure to carry his three-year-old son, Thokozani, at the back wherever he goes.

Sibusiso's two other children go to school during the day and his wife recently got a job, Briefly.co.za learned.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Sibusiso said he and his wife do not earn enough money to take Thokozani to a creche.

He therefore carries him at the back of his bicycle while job hunting or on shopping trips. He explained:

I love my children and will do anything to protect them. People cheer us on the road and that makes me happy. I make sure the carrier is fastened well, so my son is safe.

Sibusiso said he makes sure Thokozani is warm during the winter. When it rains, he leaves him with relatives.

The hardworking dad said he works as a carpenter, but business is often slow because of the harsh economic environment. He therefore has to look for additional work.

Motorists along Benoni's streets have become familiar with Sibusiso and his son, and often cheer them on.
