Chancelor Jonathan Bennett, better known as Chance the Rapper, has given this Fourth of July a new meaning!
The 25-year-old rapper took this opportunity to go down on one knee and ask his long-time girlfriend, Kirsten Corley, to be his wife, reported Times Live.
Briefly.co.za learnt that the proposal was enjoyed by friends and family in a backyard party on Wednesday.
Kensli Bennett is the couple’s 2 ½ -year-old daughter. Kensli was also in attendance when her dad popped the question to her mom, showed her excitement by running up to her parents when her mom accepted the proposal.
In the video we can hear Chance ask Kirsten Katrina Corely, to be his wife.
The rapper’s brother, Taylor Bennett, shared a photo of the happy couple on Instagram.
Twitter revealed a post by Chance confirming the engagement.
The two became a couple in 2013 but things ended in May 2016. The break-up was when Corley declared Chance was Kensli’s father by filing court documents. According to the Chicago Tribune Corely requested that the court remain “sole caretaker” of Kensli. She also asked for child support.
January 2017 they reconciled after Corley withdrew her court filing.
Chance’s speech at the Grammy Awards in February 2017 evening included his appreciation to Corley and Kensli.
