Maxamillian Neubauer, who hails from Wisconsin in America, knew how important it was for his wife to breastfeed their newborn baby immediately after birth.
So, when she suffered complications after an emergency c-section, he stepped up to fulfil her wishes.
Neubauer's wife, 24-year-old April, suffered seizures following the birth of their daughter, Rosalía. The 29-year-old knew his wife believed in the importance of skin-to-skin contact with a loved-one, and when nurses provided him with an opportunity to do it for her, he could not resist.
The Daily Sun reported they placed a suction cup with a fake nipple on Neubauer's chest which had a feeding tube attached to it.
Briefly.co.za learned the new dad described the experience as being awkward at first, but added that the nurses knew what they were doing and they helped him a lot.
“I never thought in a million years that I would ever be breastfeeding a baby. The minute they brought her out, it was hard to hold back the tears. It was instant love, it’s my baby.", he said.
The proud daddy said he was glad he could be there for her and he described the moment as "awkwardly magical".
