America prides itself as a nation on the forefront of technological development and an American, Deon Cole, unveiled a revolutionary product.
The product is called the ez-scratch' and he designed it to help women scratch their itchy scalps under their wigs or weaves.
However, South Africans have been using a device similar for this for years and unlike Cole's product which ranges from between $9.95 (R135.27) for one or $29.83 (R405.81) for a pack of 3. The one available in SA can cost as little as R5.
The device is know in SA as i'hlokoloza which is a Zulu colloquialism for poke and is a common sight tucked into the weave of African women.
When it comes to hairstyles Maumela Mahuwa is the queen and she knows all about what looks good and what doesn't. She has probably used a Hlokoloza more than once in her life.
