- South Africans reacted to the large amounts of money people were shown to have spent on alcohol
- These bills show that while the average South African is trying to survive in an unstable economy, others keep living lavish lifestyles
- One bill showed an amount of more than R700 000 spent, and the other showed R54 655 spent - both on alcohol
Parody Twitter account Man's Not Barry Roux shared a post in which he showed two large bills and tweeps were shocked.
While most South Africans are forced to tighten their belts with petrol price increases and a weak economy, others are still living the high life, drinking whiskey worth R600 000.
Tweeps reacted to the extravagant spending by commenting on the bad tip the buyers left the waiter and what they could have done with that same amount of money.
Tweeps responded with what they could have bought with the money spent on booze.
Other South Africans were unimpressed with the tip left to the waiter. R750 is definitely not 10% of the amount of money spent.
A lot of tweeps felt that living a life where you spent so much money on alcohol is not 'living'.
The general conviction was that whoever spent the money didn't earn it by working for it. People were convinced the spending showed someone had "easy money".
