A young photographer from Mamelodi, Pretoria, is on a mission to promote plus-size models in South Africa.

Sibusiso Sibanyoni is the founder of Plus Size Models RSA, Briefly.co.za learned. Through it, he's challenging societal beauty stereotypes.

Speaking to rekordeast.co.za, Sibusiso said plus-size women deserve to be loved as well — and to love who they are too.

Through his modelling agency, Sibusiso aims to build confidence among plus-size models and empower them to succeed. He said he has helped over 20 women so far:

Many of our models have managed to overcome body shaming and they are today comfortable in their own skin.

Plus-size women are facing so many challenges every day because of their weight. Community members should stop criticising them.
