There was excitement in the air on Monday on Instagram when Amanda du-Pont announced her engagement. Her long-time boyfriend, since 2015, Shawn Rodriques, popped the question on a secluded island in the Maldives.

Celebrating her 30th birthday while on a romantic holiday in the Maldives, the Swazi-born actress had no idea what lay in store for her when she was surprised by her boo when he asked her hand in marriage, reported News 24.

The breath-taking moment was posted by Amanda. Briefly.co.za learnt that the video showed the loving couple walking along the beach when Shawn gives her a kiss and proceeds to go down on one knee presenting a ring box.

It clearly shows Amanda’s surprise, as she embraces him before he places the ring on her finger.
