- A British drunk gogo, 91, crashed her car into a lamppost recently
- A magistrate handed her a 14-month driving ban
- The incident has made headlines around the world
A 91-year-old gogo in Britain could potentially be the world's oldest drink-driver after she crashed her luxury car into a streetlight recently.
Police apprehended Pauline Horrigan after the incident because she failed two breathalyser tests, Briefly.co.za learned.
According to a Mirror report, the gogo apparently lost control of her Audi A3 along a road in Essex. A magistrate subsequently handed her a 14-month driving ban.
However, Pauline reportedly pledged to never get behind the wheel again, bringing an end to her remarkable 76-year driving experience.
Incredibly, she never had an accident prior to this in her entire experience as a driver.
Pauline's lawyer, Graham Brown, said his client regretted what she had done:
She deeply regrets this incident. She is a lady who has driven 76 years without an accident and previous court appearance.
Age is proving to be no barrier at all for elderly people who wish to continue driving.
Briefly.co.za recently covered the amazing story of 80-year-old Julia Albu, a South African woman who drove 12,000km from Cape Town to London to see her daughter.
